To make a stairlift suitable for the outdoors the chair lift needs to be installed with stainless steal hardware, rack, and gears. This will insure the handicap lift will be able to be used outdoors in Minnesota.



The stairlift also needs to be wired for the outdoors to, "make sure that water does not cause a problem," Stevenson says. Your outdoor stairlift should also be covered when not in use to avoid damage to your outdoor stairlift.



As long as your stairlift is rated for the outdoors, installed properly, and all electrical wiring and connections are rated for the outdoors, there is no problem with having a stairlift outdoors in Minnesota.
